Dietary principles

Dr. Dąbrowska's vegetable and fruit diet is actually a therapeutic fast to cleanse and strengthen the body's normal function. Once the detoxification treatment is complete, you should switch to a healthy diet based on vegetables, fruit, grains and legumes.

According to Dr Ewa Dąbrowska, the body's ability to heal itself can be restored if it is thoroughly cleansed. A side effect of fasting is weight loss, as you can also get rid of excess body fat along with the accumulated deposits. Vegetables and fruit are rich in natural antioxidants. They support the repair processes and have a purifying, healing and rejuvenating effect on all cells in our body. Dr Ewa Dąbrowska's diet is low in calories, and scientific research proves that lowering the energy content of meals is an effective method of prolonging life, preventing cancer and other serious diseases.

The fasting is supposed to trigger internal nutrition, so-called endogenous nutrition, by weaning off building and high-energy foods - protein, fats, rapidly absorbed carbohydrates. In this way, the body gets rid of worthless deposits, degenerated tissues, because it uses them as a source of energy. Thus, it first begins to digest excess fat tissue and superfluous cells: diseased, damaged, mutated and those in which toxins and heavy metals have accumulated. In this way, we get rid of everything that interferes with the body's proper functioning, and natural self-healing mechanisms begin to work. According to Dr Dabrowska, as a result of a diet rich in processed and chemical-laden products, the intestines become leaky and allow particles of digested food to pass through, 'clogging' the immune system, which ceases to recognise threats, especially those developing over years: atherosclerosis, cancer, arthritis.

First stage

The first stage of Dr Dabrowski's fruit and vegetable diet can last, depending on your needs, from a few days to a few weeks (usually 10-40 days), eating up to 800 kcal per day. The principles of fasting are simple and all products are natural.

During a cleansing fast, only low-starch vegetables may be eaten, in predominantly raw form although some cooked vegetables are also allowed:

  • Brassica vegetables: kale, white and red cabbage, Italian cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, radishes, white radish,
  • root vegetables: carrots, raw beetroot, turnips, swedes, celery, parsley, horseradish,
  • Onion vegetables: onion and leek, garlic,
  • Solanaceous vegetables: tomato, pepper, aubergine,
  • Cucurbits: courgette, squash, pumpkin, fresh and pickled cucumber,
  • green leafy vegetables: lettuce, lamb's lettuce, rocket, rocket, radicchio, spinach, sorrel, celery, parsley, chives, chives, beetroot, nettle, dill, basil and other spiced herbs, and the juice of the green shoots of cereals, i.e. barley, wheat, oats, rye, spelt, without worrying about gluten, which is no longer present in the shoots,
  • fine seed sprouts : alfalfa, broccoli, radish, cress, beetroot, kale,
  • shoots: asparagus, rhubarb.

We include low-sugar fruit in the diet:

  • apples,
  • seasonal fruit: strawberries, blueberries, black and red currants, gooseberries, blackberries, cherries, plums, raspberries, cherries, apricots,
  • grapefruit, orange, lemons,
  • pomegranate.

Vegetables are best eaten raw in the form of salads and salads. They can also be cooked and eaten in the form of soup, cure, bigos, but without added fat, cream or yoghurt. Pickled vegetables and their juices are excellent in the diet because of their probiotic bacteria. During the cleansing treatment, drink 2-3 litres of liquids: water, vegetable juices and cocktails, vegetable and fruit juices and herbal and fruit teas.
